Cosy Cabin Life with Panoramic Views
The approximately 55 m² cabin sleeps up to 6 guests and has three bedrooms. The cosy living area features a wood-burning stove and dining area, creating a warm and inviting cabin atmosphere – especially after a long day outdoors.
The kitchen is equipped with a gas stove and essential cooking equipment. The bathroom has a sink and a clean, odourless eco-friendly toilet, while an outdoor shower is also available.
The cabin is largely off-grid and powered by solar energy, providing lighting and the possibility to charge your phone. There is no running water inside the cabin, but 50 litres of water are provided on arrival. Additional fresh groundwater can be collected at a water station around two minutes away by car.
Nature Right on Your Doorstep
You can set off on hikes through the surrounding forests and open mountain landscapes directly from the cabin. One particularly scenic route leads to Befjell, the highest mountain in the area. The hike is approximately 4 kilometres each way.
Around 20 minutes away by car, Himmelsyna offers another beautiful hiking area with varied landscapes and sweeping views.
There are plenty of opportunities for a refreshing swim too. A small, secluded swimming spot is within walking distance, while those who prefer a sandy beach can reach Vågdalsfjorden in around 10 minutes by car.
Slow Down & Enjoy the Outdoors
Outside the cabin, you'll find a spacious seating area with a fire pit and impressive 180° panoramic views of the surrounding mountains. It's a wonderful place for a morning coffee, a break after a hike or a long, peaceful evening outdoors.
The secluded setting also makes the cabin a great base for experiencing the local wildlife. The surrounding area is home to numerous bird species, roe deer, owls and hares. Around one kilometre from the cabin, you'll also find an area known for black grouse courtship displays.
Hiking, Swimming & Fishing
Alongside the many hiking opportunities, the nearby Uldal river system offers trout fishing. A fishing licence is required and can be purchased online.
Things to Do Nearby
Despite its peaceful location, several destinations in Southern Norway are within easy reach. Evje is around 40 minutes away by car and offers attractions including Mineralparken, as well as rafting, go-karting and climbing activities.
The charming Southern Norwegian coastal town of Arendal is around a 55-minute drive away, while Kristiansand can be reached in approximately 1 hour and 20 minutes. There you'll find restaurants, shopping and the popular Kristiansand Zoo and Amusement Park.
The nearest grocery store, Joker Mykland, is around 20 minutes away by car and also has an electric vehicle charging station.
