How Many Days Do You Need in Hardanger?

For a first visit, we recommend spending at least two to three days exploring the region’s main highlights at a relaxed pace. If you’re planning to hike Trolltunga or want to visit several villages along the fjord, four to five days is a better choice. Hardanger is also easy to combine with Bergen, Voss or the Sognefjord for a varied road trip through Western Norway.

For most visitors, a rental car is the best way to explore Hardanger. Many of the region’s most beautiful waterfalls, viewpoints, hiking trails and small fjord villages are much easier to reach by car than by public transport.
