Tucked away in the mountains of Vinje in Telemark, this 55 m² cabin sleeps up to 6 guests. With three bedrooms, a cosy living room with a fireplace and its own kitchen, it’s an ideal retreat for anyone looking to spend a few days away from towns, crowds and everyday life.
This isn’t a conventional holiday home with every modern convenience, but rather a more authentic Norwegian cabin experience. Electricity is supplied by a 12-volt system, water comes from a private well, and instead of a conventional bathroom, the cabin has a modern composting toilet system. Wi-Fi is still available.

The cabin is located on a traditional Norwegian seter – a seasonal mountain farm that forms part of Norway’s long-standing rural and farming traditions. During the summer months, sheep and goats graze around the cabin, adding to the authentic atmosphere of this special place.
In 2024, the tradition of summer farming at fäbod and seter in Norway and Sweden was inscribed on UNESCO’s Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity. The recognition celebrates the knowledge and traditions associated with seasonal farming and grazing on outlying mountain pastures.
